Quotein: Actions Speak Louder Than Words
I have found a set of three quotes that nicely summarize the meme: Actions Speak Louder Than Words.
The shortest answer is doing.
~Lord Herbert
Ironically, making a statement with words is the least effective method.
~Grey Livingston
People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.
~Lewis Cass
All three of these quotes run counter to what we see on the internet today. Now it is possible to look like you are doing something when all you are really doing is talking and using words. That is what FaceBook is all about. Its about keeping in touch with other people but not really doing anything. Even blogging can be little more than talking – if you do opinion pieces that are not based on actual experience.
Yet, some blogging can be considered an action because the purpose is to communicate experience and ideas, and to engage in discussion. The best blogs are like an academic journal on steroids and without the stuffiness. What I intend on doing within my blog is to demonstrate how my practical experience of doing relates to the post. Instead of telling you why government statism is bad, I intend on providing real-life experiences that convinces me (and hopefully you) of this. I will not tell you something just because I believe it, but because I have either seen it or done it. And it will be those actions that will speak louder than any words I could use.
