A Sense of Distrust

Somebody shared with me some visual illusions. I have included one below. It is fascinating how when we stare at the center of a circle or at the periphery of the image, the middle of each circle looks as as if it is rotating.

The problem is that it isn’t. Our eyes interprets the color sequences as movement. You can rationalize that it is just an optical illusion (which it is) but you cannot tell your eyes to stop your eyes from seeing and interpreting movement.

Our eyes and other senses may be good but they are far from perfect. This just proves that we all need to be more humble and agnostic when claiming the things we do see as being fundamentally true or real.
